Dr. Adam Ford

UBC Okanagan

Dr. Adam T. Ford heads the Wildlife Restoration Ecology Lab at UBC Okanagan, holding the Canada Research Chair in Wildlife Restoration Ecology within the Department of Biology. His team utilizes field experiments, GPS tracking, and satellite imagery to study human impacts on interactions among people, large predators (like wolves, bears, and cougars), prey species (such as caribou, moose, deer, and elk), and vegetation in human-altered landscapes. Investigating changes in species abundance, movement, and interactions, their work informs environmental legislation, aiding Canada’s biodiversity conservation efforts and supporting Indigenous and community-led restoration initiatives.
